A list of horses that look ‘live’ and solid ready to win prospects, at tracks across North America. Horses are considered playable for win only at odds of 3-1 or better, and 5-1, for win-place. Each horse is playable a maximum of three times.

TEST MARKET
Firster by Rock Hard Ten showed a long series of works but was bumped at the start but recovered well enough though for second. This barn is usually better with a race under their belt.
(Fort Erie)
VERY PERSONAL
Stretched out in second start of year and first time lasix showing. Took them a long way on the front end, and being from a top barn, colt’s Maiden victory should be in reach shortly. Next start will be 3rd off of layoff.
(Woodbine Racetrack)
J J FOR DAVE
Was making first lifetime start on turf after working well on surface. Closed quickly 6-wide to finish 3rd just a head out of second. Next time will be 3rd off layoff!

PARK BOYS
Entered NW1 race after lifetime Beyer in Maiden breaker, and was also making first start on synthetic, a surface he had worked well on. Stalked pace but came up empty in stretch drive. Give him another chance for a top barn!
(Belmont Park)
GLORY IN MOTION
Looked like he ‘bounced’ a bit off career best Beyer, that and jockey “J.R.” sent this filly directly to the front in 1-1/16th mile ‘turfer’ with ‘testy’ fractions. Like when horses change their pattern of racing as this girl did, showing front end speed for the first time!
JUST ABIT SANDY
Debuted with money showing but unfortunately was down on the inside and was dueled into submission in upper stretch. Say Florida Sandy gelding should be ‘fitter’ next time out for new barn that saw enough to claim him.
JUSTIFY
Was in same race as the above Glory in Motion and was bet down to favoritism, but was steadied, virtually losing all chance. Did make a good 5-wide gain in the stretch for third.
LISA JEAN
Making first start since California debut in March, 2009, filly won under a hand-ride and looks to have quite a future on turf for Motion-barn. Follow him up the ladder in N.Y. bred classes.
RENNINA
In same race as Lisa Jean and Triple Latte (below). Looked to have a ‘big shot’ after good turf debut but was steadied in upper stretch and lost all chance. Next start will be 3rd off layoff!
TRIPLE LATTE
Another out of the same race as Lisa Jean and Rennina, and this one seemed to ‘bounce’ off career high Beyer. Mind you, a slow break in a 6-furlong ‘turfer’ didn’t really help the cause. Filly may be better on grass, so give her another chance!
(Hollywood Park)
A MOMENT IN TIME
Three-year-old took some betting action in second lifetime start but looked to be ‘spinning his wheels’ on the Hollywood surface. Entered today off some serious ‘training spins’ at Santa Anita, where he has trained well all along. Perhaps he doesn’t like the Hollywood surface? Does have a bit of ‘green’ in his pedigree and next time will be 3rd of the layoff, so don’t give up just yet!
ZILRATOR
Baffert trainee had been off since March but had worked well on the Hollywood surface. Well-bred three-year-old looked to have a ‘huge chance’ today, and actually was noticed finishing well for 3rd. Shouldn’t be a Maiden for too long!
June 6 (Hollywood Park)
CHOCOLATE CANDY
Was on our list after last years debacle in the Belmont, and showed up today in a tough Hollywood Allowance, and first time on the turf, a surface I think he will do some damage on! Had worked well on the surface and looked to be in a good stalking position, only to ‘blow the turn’ a bit in the stretch which seemed to negate his chances. Bred for turf top and bottom, look out next time!
LUCKY FITZ
Off since December Allowance at Golden Gate, three-year-old gelding had worked well for season debut and took some tote action, especially right at the end. This guy broke alertly but the jockey ‘snatched him up’ and wrestled him to the back; make that ‘way back’! Did close a lot of ground and even turning into the stretch looked to have a ‘huge shot’ at the win, but tired a bit and finished third. Looks to have some talent, especially if he shows up with fellow California-breds, instead of the open company he was in with today.
JENNY JENNY EMILY
Good juvenile barn, first lasix, but tough spot (the rail) to debut from. Also had several gaps in workout pattern, but despite all this the public liked her, making her post time favorite. Raced like a ‘short’ horse and faded after showing some speed. Should be better for the experience next time out, especially if she can get off the rail.
ROCK ‘N RULE
Hadn’t been seen since April of 2009, and was entered today with a low percentage jockey in the irons, though there were some serious workouts showing. Gelding certainly outran his 24-1 odds, finishing 3rd, just missing the place money by a short head. If this guy can string a few races together to go with those good works, a ‘sheepskin’ shouldn’t be too far out of reach!
