Star US galloper Cannonball

Star US galloper Cannonball has arrived in Melbourne and is set to
become the first American trained horse to compete in Australia.
The widely travelled sprinter, who finished second in the Golden Jubilee
at Royal Ascot in June, before disappointing in Hong Kong is being aimed
at the opening leg of the 2010 Global Sprint Challenge, the $500,000
Lightning Stakes (1000m), at Flemington on January 30.
Cannonball is being looked after by former champion American jockey
Declan Murphy on his journey down under.
Murphy said Cannonball had a slight crack in a hoof when he contested

Veteran jockey Norihiro Yokoyama won his first Derby when Logi Universe shot away to win the 76th running of the Tokyo Yushun (Japanese Derby) today on a soft track at Tokyo racecourse.
